Ubisoft Connect: first sign-in and changing your email
Ubisoft Connect (formerly Uplay) signs in with an email address and sends a verification code by email whenever you connect from a new device.
Takes about 10 minutes.
Before you start
Keep the order page open. It has two boxes:
- Uplay Login Data — the account's
UsernameandPassword - Email Login Data — the email address tied to the account, and its password
Have your own working email address ready too.
Steps
Step 1 — Sign in on the website first
Click Login Page on the order page, or open account.ubisoft.com directly.
Use a browser first — do not open the Ubisoft Connect desktop client yet.
Step 2 — Enter the email and password
Copy them from the Uplay Login Data box with the copy icon.
Step 3 — Get the verification code
Ubisoft sends a 6-digit code to the account's email address. Go back to the order page, click Get OTP Code From Email, and paste the code.
If no code appears, click Show full emails.
Step 4 — Change the email first
- At account.ubisoft.com, go to Account Information
- Click Edit next to Email
- Enter the current password, then your own new address
- Ubisoft sends a confirmation link to the new address — open your own inbox and confirm
Always change the email before the password.
Step 5 — Change the password
Same page, click Edit next to Password.
Step 6 — Turn on two-step verification
Under Security, enable 2-Step Verification and link it to your own authenticator app.
Ubisoft gives in-game rewards for turning this on.
Step 7 — Open Ubisoft Connect
Sign out of your existing account first, then sign in with the new address.
What to watch out for
- Ubisoft games bought on Steam still require a separate Ubisoft Connect sign-in. These are two different accounts.
- Ubisoft limits how often you can change your username. Do not rush it — check the current rule on the account settings page first.
If you get stuck
It says the account is temporarily suspended for suspicious activity
Ubisoft detected a sign-in from a new country. Confirm through the link it emails you — open it with Show full emails.
You clicked Get OTP but no code appeared
Ubisoft sends a link instead of a code in some cases. Use the Show full emails button.
