What the Steam Guard confirmation box on the order page is
On the order page of any account with Steam Guard Mobile attached, there is a button at the bottom labelled Show Steam Guard confirmations. This guide explains it.
What problem it solves
Steam Guard Mobile works like this: when you do something Steam considers important — signing in from a new device, changing security settings, approving a trade — Steam does not give you a code to type. It sends a request to be approved in the mobile app linked to the account.
The problem is that the linked app is not yours yet. The request sits there and you cannot continue.
This button lets you see the pending requests and approve them yourself.
When to use it
Use it when you did something on the Steam side and Steam says it is waiting for confirmation from the Steam app or "confirm from your mobile device", but you do not have that device.
Steps
Step 1 — Start the action on Steam's side first
Do whatever you are trying to do on the Steam site until it says it is waiting for confirmation. Do not cancel — leave that page open.
Step 2 — Open the confirmations on the order page
Go back to the order page and scroll to the bottom of the Email Login Data box. Click Show Steam Guard confirmations.
- If it says "No pending requests", Steam has not sent one yet. Wait 10-20 seconds and click Reload requests.
- If there is a request, it appears in a list with an Approve button.
Step 3 — Read the item, then approve
The system asks you to confirm once more before it goes through.
Step 4 — Go back to the Steam side
The page you left open should now continue. If it does not, refresh it.
What to watch out for
- Approving cannot be undone. These requests act on the real account, including approving trades that move items out of it.
- Always read the item before approving. If you see a request you did not trigger, do not approve it — contact an admin first.
- Once you have linked your own Steam app, you will not need this button anymore. Requests will go straight to your app.
If you get stuck
It always says "No pending requests"
Most requests take longer to arrive than you would expect. Click Reload requests two or three times, about 15 seconds apart. If nothing shows up, Steam may have sent a code by email instead — try requesting an OTP from email or opening the mailbox.
Approving returns an error
Reload the requests first — the request may have expired. Start the action on the Steam side again so a fresh request is created.
